Medical Terminology

This class aids students in mastering the language of medicine. Students learn the various elements known as word parts that make up the medical terms. Each lesson acquaints students with the terms related to each body system as well as the abbreviations utilized in the medical language.This course teaches medical terminology from an anatomical approach. Root terms are divided by each body system. The origin, a combined form, and an example of non-medical everyday usage is provided for each root term. Word Associations are provided as a learning tool. Unusual and interesting information is provided in regards to each term. Root terms are combined with prefixes and suffixes as your learning will culminate in the interpretation of several paragraphs of medical notes.

This course is designed to provide experience with preventive maintenance/routine service areas, vehicle lubrication, and engine tune-up. The class consists of theory, demonstration and hands-on activities.

Fitness/ ZUMBA

Get in shape for summer weather! Zumba is a dance fitness program created by dancer and choreographer Alberto "Beto" Perez in Columbia during the 1990's. The program combines Latin and international music with dance in an effort to make exercise fun. Class is geared toward beginner and intermediate students

Container Vegetable Production and Greenhouse Techniques

Yes it is winter! But this course is being conducted in a state-of-the-art greenhouse. The greenhouse is connected to the NCCTC as a result of the visionary efforts by the leadership of the Northumberland County Area on Aging and numerous other partners. Participants will be given an opportunity to learn techniques of growing vegetables in a greenhouse, as well as many helpful hints to prepare for their home planting and gardening season. Microsoft Word/Excel for Beginners

Whether you're just learning word processing and spreadsheets, or switching from another software package, using Microsoft Word and Excel is easy! You'll study basic word processing and spreadsheet terminology, discover the fastest and easiest ways to create and edit documents, and learn functions through practical exercises.
